Types of Compressors
No matter how big or small your Compressed Air requirements, AdamAir Pty Ltd can supply a solution for you.
Our team of experts will guide you through the process, helping you to select the very best type of compressor for your application. We will help you select the most appropriate size and type of compressor as well as the best air treatment process for your exact situation. The first step is to ascertain what type of compressor will suit your requirements.
Screw
High Efficiency • Low Noise • Long Life
A screw compressor is often the most appropriate type of compressor for medium to high volume applications due to their efficiency, long life and low noise. Screw compressors are typically quite efficient but the overall efficiency can be further improved by fitting a variable speed motor.
Reciprocating Piston
Low Initial Cost
A piston compressor is very similar to an internal combustion engine except it is powered rather than creating power. They are effective and are based on a very well proven technology. Piston compressors are available in many sizes and pressures. The standard 100psi Piston compressor is very effective and low cost, however they are only really suitable for intermittent usage (less than 30 minutes per hour).
Oil Free
Totally Oil Free Air • Low Noise • Efficient Operation
Oil free compressors are either supplied as a Scroll Compressor or a specialist version of a screw compressor using water as a lubricant / coolant, rather than the normal oil. Oil free compressors are regularly used in Hospitals, surgeries, food or pharmaceutical industries, although some companies use a standard oil lubricated machine and high levels of Filtration to remove all traces of oil before using the air.

We offer a full design and installation service or can supply for customers own installation.
Gone are the days of rusty metal pipes. Industry today demands clean pipes made from modern materials delivering Compressed Air free from oxides and contamination. If your existing compressed air pipe systems are steel, you could be losing up to 30% leakage through pipe corrosion. The inner surface of galvanised steel pipe gradually corrodes in contact with the water that is in compressed air and those can cause leaks that are wasting your valuable compressed air.
With compressed air typically representing 10% of industrial energy costs, optimising and controlling its production and use is an opportunity to make immediate energy savings. After a 10 year period, the cost of energy consumed exceeds the initial cost of equipment and installation and improving a pipework system can give a potential cost saving of 34%. Saving money, increasing efficiency.
AdamAir are distributors for Polair piping systems, an innovative and efficient solution that will improve the performance of your pipework. The Polyethylene pipe prevents corrosion and ensures a constant flow of quality compressed air. From the compressor to point of use, Polair pipework systems give higher longevity of equipment and reduce the frequency of changing of filter elements.
We carry a large stock of Polair fittings and tube including elbows, tees, and Connectors.
